About The Artist ~ Maureen Oliveto
Inheritably self-taught, I am driven by my creative spirit that allows me to express objects of love through my jewelry and my paintings.  Through a brief interview, my persona was amazingly captured and expressed in an article written about my creative nature and endeavors by a very good friend, karen guarino.  I would like to share a portion of this written work with you---
It's 5 a.m. and her household sleeps.  Softly she tip-toes through the rooms that will lead her to her creative space.  Whispering past those distractions that beckon her attention, foreign to her soul, she finds a way.  With a sigh, she lights the fragrant candle and presses "PLAY"; releasing the soothing melody to embrace her moment.  Before she begins, she gazes momentarily at the window and traces the patterns of drops in cascading lines across the windowpane.  The welcome rain blurs the world outside and inspires the artist within.  As she breathes in this atmosphere that has granted her complete submission, she sinks her brush into the paint.
Since that article was written, I placed my brushes aside and have been indulging in the art of jewelry designing.  I have been told my style is very unique.  This may be the result from the way I create my jewelry line.  I enjoy expressing simple, delicate design.  I find the most beautiful beads and semi-precious stones that are made and displayed at local boutiques in and around the Hudson Valley.  I personally hand pick these unique findings as well as quality materials from reputable wholesale suppliers.  Finding the right beads can truly make or take away the value and awe of a finished piece of jewelry.

My latest endeavor has been centered around my tool and invention, Easy Knotter (TM) which is currently under Patent Pending protection.  My innovation has been met by incredible and positive response.  I currently have several retail stores carrying my jewelry, and now, my Easy Knotter (TM) tool.  It's very exciting!

My journey into the world of wearable art expression has blessed my life and has allowed me to produce one-of-a-kind pieces that are delicate, attractive and simple with just the right amount of sparkle to invite unending compliments from anyone who sees and wears them.
